London iStockalypse (18)
2-7th May 2011. London. A small selection of images that I shot for the iStock & Getty sponsored iStockalypse event in London. We had 5 intense days of shooting editorial & creative content and it was a massive amount of fun and a lot of hard work. -

Bradford EDL demonstration (58)
28th August 2010. Bradford, UK. A static protest was arranged by the English Defence League (EDL). The police were present in great number to see that the approx 800 EDL supporters (my estimate) didn't clash with Unite Against Fascism (UAF) supporters, who were holding a counter protest. The police, despite a certain amount of provocation, were well behaved, as were the vast majority of EDL and UAF supporters. The hole in Bradford city centre has finally been put to use, which was a positive. -
Bradford red light district (38)
Photos taken around Bradford's red light district near Thornton road in March 2010. This area has become a magnet for drug addicts & prostitutes. Subsequent to these photos being taken, it has been alleged that three of the women who worked here have been murdered by Stephen Griffiths, who calls himself the "crossbow cannibal". -

April 1st 2010. Back to Basics club at the O2 in Leeds with The Blessed and Fatboy Slim. Visuals by Magic Lantern & Steve McKeown. Dave Beer's new music project The Blessed played a great set and went down really well with the massive crowd, as did Fatboy slim, who played a DJ set later. -
Chechen Refugee Camp (22)
8th Nov 2009. Fenerbahçe, Istanbul, Turkey. A refugee camp for people who fled conflict in Chechnya. The people are denied Turkish state benefits and also the right to work, leaving them in abject poverty. The camp is by the sea, where cold winters and damp has affected the refugees' health, many of the children suffer asthma and other breathing ailments. Although born in Turkey, the children are effectively state-less and fall between the cracks of international law. -
Istanbul Highlights (25)
4-10th November. Istanbul, Turkey. A selection of some of my favourite images shot in 2009 at the iStockphoto editorial iStockalypse with Getty Images. More to follow. -
Leeds bin strike (20)
Photos of Leeds showing the effects of the bin strike. The strike began on 7th September 2009 and these images were taken in its fifth week. This is the mainly student area of Hyde Park, which seems particularly badly hit. -
Piers Browne (35)
I spent a wonderful day in the Yorkshire Dales with a very talented artist called Piers Browne. Piers creates brilliant romantic landscape paintings but also produces fantastic etchings too. He was being filmed for a documentary about his life and work, so I tagged along to try an capture some of his personality and passion for landscapes.
